At Start4Chem, we are an interdisciplinary, broad-based team. Our goal is to support scientists in the transfer of application-oriented research results. We see ourselves as a central interface between research, business and society. This is why we are docked to the Faculty of Chemistry and Biochemistry and are a part of the Worldfactory at Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

Start-up Advice and Accompaniment
Together with the start-up consultants at WORLDFACTORY, we provide individual and structured support for every start-up idea. The services are primarily aimed at students and researchers with their own R&D results and a connection to chemistry at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. But, if capacities are available, they are also open to interested third parties in the field of chemistry, who
- would like to test the feasibility of a product idea,
- would like to develop a business model based on their own R&D findings,
- intend to participate in start-up competitions,
- want to apply for public funding,
- are planning a start-up in the field of chemistry.
START4CHEM-Labs - The right infrastructure for your start-up idea
As a part of WORLDFACTORY, we have been advising people interested in founding a company related to chemistry or biochemistry since 2019. With the Start4Chem Labs, we offer you not only advice but also laboratory space for your product and process developments. We are creating an important basis for work and success for people interested in founding a company. Therefore, we offer laboratory and coworking space on the campus of the Ruhr University in the BioMedizinZentrum Bochum (BMZ), which is exclusively available to people interested in founding a company. In the labs, you have the opportunity to get to know other people with a business interest, to network and to work on your idea with your team.
