The Mobile Sound Studio for Unlimited Creativity

With a vision for greater accessibility, diversity, and sustainability in music production, NOVER Audio Services is breaking away from traditional structures. Founders Kaye and Zuzanna combine technical expertise with cultural and organizational sensitivity, bringing professional recording quality right to the places where creative energy emerges – whether it’s a living room, a rehearsal space, or the countryside. In our new start-up interview, the two entrepreneurs talk about their idea of combining a mobile studio with a digital platform, share insights into the unique challenges of founding a company, and explain why they see music as a fundamental human need. The following interview was translated into English by WORLDFACTORY.
Please introduce yourselves briefly as the founding team. What are your strengths?
We are Kaye and Zuzanna, two creative individuals with different backgrounds but a shared vision: to make music production accessible, inclusive, and sustainable. Kaye is an audio engineer, musician, and producer with several years of hands-on experience in the music industry, from her own projects to studio productions for other bands, also in the Netherlands and Austria. She has first-hand expertise in the technical and creative challenges involved. Zuzanna is a cultural manager and business economist with a focus on public welfare organizations. She brings the strategic, structural, and organizational know-how to translate ideas into sustainable processes. What connects us is the deep conviction that music is a basic human need, an expression of identity, participation, and connection. We want to give people the opportunity to make their voices heard; self-determined, professional, and on an eye-to-eye level.
Describe your start-up idea:
NOVER Audio Services is an audio technology start-up that combines a mobile and sustainable recording infrastructure with a digital platform. Our vision is to make music production accessible to everyone. Our flagship service is our mobile studio unit, which travels to places where creative energy is born, such as rehearsal rooms, cultural venues, your own living room, or the countryside. This allows us to create professional recording conditions outside of traditional studio structures. With our digital platform, which simplifies booking, preparation, and communication, we offer smart education tools, clear processes, and a community area. Our services are particularly aimed at semi-professional musicians who are confronted with many challenges in existing structures, such as lack of time, lack of infrastructure, lack of transparency, or lack of familiarity with the industry. We not only provide the technology, but also a full-service ecosystem that promotes empowerment, self-efficacy, and visibility. In doing so, we take a holistic approach to sustainability: ecologically through energy-efficient technology and the use of mobile resources, and socially through fair conditions and inclusive offerings. Our goal is to rethink music production: accessible, bold, collaborative.
How did you first come up with the idea of founding a start-up?
The idea arose from challenges we encountered in the course of our own work: many talented musicians remain invisible because they have no access to professional infrastructure. This is exactly what we wanted to change by using mobile studios to support musicians at their current position. Our goal is to offer them customized support allowing them to develop their musical talents and fully express themselves. We take care of all the technical aspects so that they can focus on their creativity. So far, there has been no such thing as a feel-good music production network that works without any pressure and is accessible to everyone. And that's exactly what sparked our desire to turn this vision into reality. We want to bring recording quality to where it is really needed. However, it quickly became clear that more than just technology was required, so we developed a musical ecosystem with a full-service offering. This is how our vision became NOVER Audio Services.
How did you balance starting the company with your studies/career?
With a lot of planning, passion, and Club Mate! Especially when you're still studying or have other work commitments, it takes discipline, determination, and passion, but also the ability to flexibly adjust your priorities when things get busy. To-do lists, project tools, and daily coordination quickly became part of our everyday routine. We decided early on to focus fully on building the business and to consciously put other things on hold. It wasn't always easy, but it was absolutely the right thing to do. We put all our eggs in one basket, and even though the days are long and the challenges are many, we haven't regretted it for a single day. The learning curve is steep, but it feels great to build something that truly comes from within, with meaning, substance, and real drive.
For us, the WORLDFACTORY means...
...a real home for creative minds with entrepreneurial spirit. It's where startups from all sorts of fields come together, and this is incredibly inspiring. Exchanging ideas with other teams that are doing their own thing opens your eyes and creates a strong sense of “we're all in this together.” The network we've been able to build through WORLDFACTORY is worth pure gold to us. Our mentor is from the industry as well and brings just the right amount of experience, clarity, and empathy to the table. We're super happy to have found her! We also particularly appreciate the fact that it's not just economic success that counts here, but that social impact and sustainable thinking are taken just as seriously. This fits perfectly with our approach. For us, WORLDFACTORY is a place that encourages, challenges, connects, and helps us to courageously follow our own path.
What are the biggest challenges you can face and how do you deal with them?
There are so many: funding applications, technical implementation, patenting, visibility... but the most challenging thing for us is striking a balance between idealism and reality. You start out with a grand vision, but along the way you encounter bureaucracy, technical hurdles, or simply practical issues such as time management and financing. We have learned that you don't have to solve everything right away. Step by step and with the right network, you can make progress. Over time, you learn to be more patient and to deal productively with rejections or delays, because that's normal and part of the process. It's a roller coaster ride (but that has its own appeal). Or you realize that something that seemed like a good idea in theory doesn't work in practice. Then it's time to adapt, rethink, and move on. It helps to regularly ground yourself and appreciate small steps forward. In the end, it's less about having everything under control and more about staying flexible and not getting discouraged. Every mistake brings you further, and sometimes detours lead to the most exciting solutions.
What is special about your start-up?
NOVER Audio Services combines technical innovation with a clear social and ecological commitment, which makes us unique. While many recording services remain stationary, opaque, and exclusive, we focus on mobile, sustainable studios that come directly to the people. This not only reduces spatial and financial barriers, but also addresses structural exclusions in music production. We create a safe space for all talents whose creative expression has often been underrepresented. Through low-threshold preparation tools, transparent booking processes, and a community platform, we strengthen not only musical quality but also self-confidence and visibility. Furthermore, we think of sustainability not only in ecological terms, such as through energy-efficient technology and green logistics, but also in social terms: we want to promote fair working conditions in the industry, make new role models visible, and build an inclusive ecosystem in the long run.
What is your current situation and what are the next steps?
We are currently working intensively on developing our prototype, both technically for the mobile studio and digitally for the platform. At the same time, we are continuing to expand our network of collaboration partners, supporters, and community members. The next step is the pilot phase of our mobile recording studio, during which we will test initial real-world application scenarios and gather valuable feedback. In addition, we were recently selected for the MusicWorX program in Hamburg, a specialized incubator for the music industry that will provide us with targeted support in further developing our business model and entering the market, starting in September. We are very excited about this, as the exchange with other music start-ups and industry-specific support are extremely valuable to us. We are also particularly proud of our nomination among the top 9 creativ.projects 2025 by creative.nrw. This award confirms that our project is contributing relevant impulses at the intersection of culture, technology, and social change.
Your tip for all those interested in founding a company:
You should be clear about why you are doing this and for whom. Passion and perseverance are important. Not everything has to be perfect right away, but you should know where you want to go and what values drive you. Hold on to your vision, even when things get rough, because they definitely will. And: Find people who reflect you honestly and motivate you. Don't be afraid to ask questions, seek feedback, or even change course. Starting a business means learning, constantly and at all levels. And last but not least: Do not lose your sense of fun. Even if it is challenging. You are creating something of your own that did not exist before. That is something special!
